This was architect Robson C. Chambers' own home. It was the first collaboration between Chambers and Albert Frey. In 1952, Chambers became an official partner in the newly renamed firm Clark, Frey & Chambers, whose projects include the Tramway Gas Station, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway Valley Station, and Palm Springs City Hall.
