Jammy Rice Pudding
Prepare as for Simple Rice Pudding but remove the skin 5 minutes before the end of cooking and spoon 45-60 ml/ 3-4 tbsp jam of your choice warmed with 20 ml/4 tsp water over the surface of the rice and return to a preheated oven to glaze.
Brown Rice and Raisin
Prepare as for Simple Rice Pudding but substitute brown short-grain rice for the white rice and simmer for 30 minutes, adding a little more of the milk if necessary. Add 50 g/2 oz/1/2 cup raisins with the remaining ingredients.

Ginger has chemicals, phenols, and compounds that perform a variety of functions such as stomach acid neutralization which leads to morning sickness alleviation. According to the American Pregnancy Association, the use of ginger root is likely safe during pregnancy. It should not be consumed in large amounts though, so the use of ginger extract is not advised as it is concentrated, resulting in possible side effects. Side effects from responsible ginger intake are unlikely when limiting ginger intake to 1,000 milligrams per day while you are expecting. Other tactics I used to fight morning sickness were eating immediately after waking up (an empty stomach can heighten nausea) as well as always having lemons on hand. The smell and taste of freshly cut lemons work well for many people. Even though morning sickness is unpleasant, it is a sign that your pregnancy is progressing and hopefully, it will subside by your second trimester.
