Recipe for Dinner
Grenadine Orangeade

SERVES 4

300 ml/1 pt/1/2 cups orange juice 300 ml/1/2 pt/1/2 cups ginger ale 50 ml/2 oz/1 tbsp grenadine syrup

1 pomegranate

Place the orange juice in a cocktail shaker or large jug and top up with ginger ale. Add the grenadine syrup and mix well. Cut the pomegranate into thin wedges and add to the drink. Serve straight away.

Honeyed Apple Squash Gooseberry Squash

SERVES 4-6

450 g/1 lb apples Thinly pared rind and juice of 1 large lemon 600 mill pt/2’/ cups boiling water 3045 ml/2-3 tbsp clear honey

Finely chop the apples but do not peel or core. Place in a saucepan with the lemon rind. Add the water, bring to the boil, cook tor 1 minute, then remove from the heat, stir well and leave until cold. Squash the fruit down gently with a potato masher or the back of a spoon from time to time. Stir in the lemon juice and sweeten to taste with honey. Strain into a jug. Chill until ready to serve, diluted with still or fizzy water.
