Spiced Apple Crisp.
Carob and Pear Gateau.
Prepare as for Ginger Rhubarb Crisp but substitute cooking (tart) apples for the rhubarb and add a good pinch of ground cinnamon to them when cooking.
Fresh Fruit Salad.
Add 150 ml/1/2 pt/1/2 cup pure orange or apple juice, 5 ml/1 tsp lemon juice and a sprinkling of ground cinnamon to a small can of fruit in natural juice as the base of your salad and fill up with washed, chopped fresh fruit, allowing about 45 ml/
3 tbsp fruit per person. Leaving on any edible peel gives colour and texture and retains much of the goodness. A scooped-out pineapple or melon shell makes a perfect natural receptacle for fresh fruit salad, or use halved grapefruit or large orange shells for individual helpings.
