Much of the stock is European, but a speciality is American 20th-century design, particularly Ray and Charles Eames’ moulded rocking chairs (original ones cost £1,000, or £375 with a remade base). DINING 5 STAR Andrew is the exclusive stockist of the Eames Storage Unit range of adaptable shelving in metal, maple and laminate. The shop also has a collection of unglazed ceramic vases by the Fulham Pottery, most made to Constance Spry’s designs in the thirties as “disposable†holders for delivered arrangements. He also stocks a range of fascinating modem textiles, from lengths and panels by artists John Piper, Lucienne Day and Patrick Heron – most of which were commissioned by Heal’s in the fifties and sixties – to bolts of seventies kipper-tie fabric that Andrew has made into funky cushion covers.
