MAKE THE MOST OF IT: Take along a map of the area. You can buy one at the Buffelsfontein Visitor Centre. Books by South African botanical artist Mary Maytham Kidd are great references for what’s flowering at different times of the year. Volunteers at the Centre also maintain a ‘what’s flowering this month’ notice board for ramblers to use as a reference.
